Looking at the theory at its birth time will assure its value, in the sixties until he nineties most workers were having the same background. They have the same education or no education at all, they also could be from the same social class lower/middle . this factor has made it straightforward or nearly for the employee to identify what could motivate their employees. having worked for many small and giant companies socializing and listening to their views, the differences in the social classes at on workplace is extremely enlarged

e.g. people with hither degrees are working alongside with people have lower or even have no education this fact to me has created wide range of expectancy among the workforce that if it was not simple to identify in the seventies according to the critics of the expectancy theory, it will be rather impossible nowadays.
